Maes has spent almost his entire time around the palace and, as such, has a decent feel for the place. When he isn't helping evacuate or protect people taking shelter he'll be doing his best to fight against the mermen attempting to invade, trying to barricade some of the areas that need it, and just generally doing what he can to protect people who are vulnerable.

Mostly, given his ability, he'll avoid fighting and try to be defense and coordinator of getting people in helpful positions.
