A heightened sense of smell would be able to lead Morrigan/any shapeshifter who is investigating the locked doors that there seems to be one particular room that does smell more damp and plant like than the others, yes. The door is locked, of course, but there is a distinct smell of something that smells like (or at one point smelled like) it could have been organic material.
