1.) Probably until he gets in, he's pretty stubborn.
2.) Hisoka has options... First, he does come from a world that has technology and learning it is part of becoming a skilled hunter. The hunter exam had the 'Trick Tower' which was full of all sorts of contraptions and shit you had to figure out. Second, he has a lot of toys at his disposal, if it's at all 'mechanical' he could try all kinds of physical lock picking with various things. Third, is always... brute strength. Of which he has an abundance, but he'd rather save that for last after he's tried being smart first.
3.) He will indeed probably try somewhere as far away from everyone/everything else, just because why would he do what everyone else is doing.
4.) Will share if he finds anything, although his idea of what's interesting is loose....
