INTRODUCTION: Hi, I'm Revise, I draw some stuff and write some stuff and play tabletop games and sometimes watch anime. I've been in Games Done Quick archive hell recently though I haven't been posting much about it, and trying to catch up on some archive panic-y canons like Critical Role campaign 2.
CR MEME CHARACTER NAME: Ren Suzugamori CHARACTER CANON: Cardfight!! Vanguard (specifically the timeskippy sequel, Vanguard G, so he's 23 instead of the 16-18 he was in the first series) PERSONALITY: Once upon a time, Ren was a cute, sweet airhead of a kid who just wanted to be able to stay with his important friends forever...and then he got psychic powers that drew out his worst aspects and dominated him with them for about three years of his formative adolescence. So while he's still cute, sweet, and a bit of an airhead, he often exaggerates that side of himself for the sake of downplaying the other side of his personality, which is sadomasochistic, powerlusty and manipulative. He's overall a good dude and absolutely die-hard loyal to anyone important to him, just a little questionable in his methods, worryingly perceptive about reading people and not the best at relating to others in an honest manner. One of my favourite quotes to describe him is from one of his best friends in his canon: "Capricious and delicate, as though he might break, but with a strong heart" - so in other words, while he might be a bit of a toying little shit at times, he'll always have your back. POWER/ABILITY: So I took the opportunity to be Real Dumb and gave Ren the ability to shapeshift into his "avatar unit" - the card in his deck he has the strongest bond with, which is much more literal for Ren usually because psychic powers - Blaster Dark "Diablo" (though it'll be like when Ren "rides" the unit in canon and it takes on some of his features in return). Basically, he turns into an armoured dude with a sword who's a bit stronger/more agile than a normal person and his sword has some minor powers that he might be able to help people out with if fights happen. INTERESTED CR: Ren is definitely going to be Out There from the start trying to make friends and form a network, so anyone open to that would be grand! He's not the most honest about himself, but he's going to be quite lonely from losing his psychic connection to the planet Vanguard units come from (and thus the ability to just kinda psychic chat with his cards) and being separated from his friends, so he'll be pretty eager for company. He'll definitely be after roommates if he can wrangle any too, so I'm open to that if anyone's interested. I was late to the party in deciding to app so I didn't quite make the TDM, so I definitely want to jump all-in for getting CR now. For more specific draws: Ren is extremely good at dragging grumpy people out of their shells and takes great joy in it, he might need a hand brushing up on his fighting skills since he mostly does that while possessing someone on another planet, and he enjoys being a bit of a teasing ass about things even when he's pretending he's totally oblivious and innocent and not kind of a power-thirsting disaster.
