There are a lot of strangers present in Mirabar, and the locals have definitely taken notice that the arson started after you all showed up . . . not that that means anything, necessarily, but they're definitely looking at you all a bit suspiciously (with the best of intentions, of course).

The fire itself seems to have started without a solid ignition source, which may indicate a magical beginning, rather than a flint and fuel. And there are no patterns to be found -- the people who own the property are totally different people, without any real relationship to one another, and the locations are totally random.
