a mod post.
Hello, Beloved Travelers!

When we opened this game in May 2018, we had no idea how things would go! To our surprise, it kicked off with a bang, and we’ve had a great time ever since. It has been a delight operating Acatalepsy for all of you.

With that said, the modteam of Acatalepsy has come to the decision to shift the game into a sandbox, and to close new applications.

We want to signify this change with a closing log for players to choose a final path for their characters. Do they continue traveling the universe? Take up a new home in the Temple? Or finally return home. We believe that our amazing playerbase deserves an opportunity to end with closure, rather than fizzle out with no opportunity to wrap up their CR.

This final log will be posted at the beginning of October and it will give players a chance to sort out their CR. We’ll be inviting previous players to participate for any final closure.
September AC is waived. You do not need to submit it.
As always, do not hesitate to bring us any questions. There will be a space to ask Kathashun questions below, in addition to any OOC questions you’d like to ask about the scene.

Yours,
Acatamods.

THE RETURN FROM SHULON.

It happens in the morning. A notification on your watches, it is a kind of frantic beeping noise, trying to get your attention. When you look, Kathushun’s panicked face is there.

“Something is wrong with the rift. I don’t know what is happening, but we have to leave. Now.”

Suddenly, without further warning, you are pulled. You are immersed in darkness. For a moment, you cannot breathe… you are stuck between the moments of reality. You try to call out to your comrades, but your voice dies out in the nothingness.

Then you hear Kathshun’s voice. “Hold on.”

And, just like that . . . You can breathe. Drawn out of nothingness, you land roughly on the ground. The grass is wet, but it is a relief to feel that, rather than the Void.

You’re back in the Temple of Beginnings, and the sky is pitch black.

Kathashun is there beside you, his face pale as he tries to count how many of you are still here.

“Something is wrong with the balance of this place,” he says, pushing back his hood. “I am not sure what--”

Before he can finish his sentence, there is a loud cracking that ripples throughout the sky. It seems to be emanating from the Forest of the Fey. Distantly, there is a light peeking through the darkness. It’s small at first, but it grows in size, in shape, and in intensity.

Then, out of nowhere, huge beams of light descend from the sky and crash into the ground around you. No one is directly hit, but the beams come searingly close. The ground shakes under your feet.

Kathashun’s voice rings out amongst the chaos, “Find cover!”

You find cover just in time, the beams are increasing in intensity and frequency. It feels as if the world itself is shattering to pieces... the din is loud and cacophonous. Every bone in your body aches as the chaos continues.

The only thing that seems to be ringing through your mind is this: The Temple has already been destroyed once. Who knows what will be left when the sky clears?

As soon as that thought crosses your mind though, the beams stop. Left in their wake are craters, smoldering ruins of trees that were tall only moments before. And in stark juxtaposition of the chaos that reigned only moments before, sudden… silence.

You’re not sure what’s happening, but Kathashun soon emerges from his hiding place, shaking debris out of his robe. His face is pale.

He doesn’t have a concrete answer for what has happened… Instead he says:

“Something has opened.”
