WORLD JUMP # 4: EVENT POST
WORLD JUMP # 4: WRAP UP

WAKING UP DETAILS | INFO SUMMARY | MOD QUESTIONS | THE SOUND
AREAS OF INTEREST: BEDROOMS, MESS HALL/KITCHEN, LOUNGE AREA, LOCKED DOORS, DISCOVERED

When you wake, it's to the sound of machines--whirring, beeping, and what almost sounds like a heart monitor. When you open your eyes, everything is white, foggy, and heavy. You have no idea where you are, or what's going on. If your first instinct is to panic, then perhaps you panic, but if you wait for another ten--maybe fifteen--seconds there will be a series of alternating beeping noises. With a click and a whoosh, the fog will clear.

The room around you is sterile and dark, all grey walls and metal. The lights are dim and yellow, as if the electricity supply has switched to an alternate, power-saving generator. As you move to stand, you find that you'd been laying in a kind of cot built into the wall. The machines you heard are built into the space around you. Like you had been sleeping in some kind of capsule. There are three other capsules in this room, and a single door.

Walking out this door, you find a long hallway with a number of similar doors. You can assume these are more rooms like yours, with beds, with machines, and possibly more people. You hope for more people. As you take another step into the hallway there is a sudden and overwhelming sense of being alone.

Along the wall next to you is a single word printed in block letters.

Horologium.

Somewhere below you--you don’t know from where, or from how far--comes a low rumble. Loud enough that you can feel it through your feet. The low lights that line the corridor flicker once before returning to their low hum.

WHEN YOU WAKE UP.
Everyone in the Circle will experience the same first few breaths. The fog, the rooms, the hallway. What you do from there on out is up to you, and will define what it is the Circle comes to know about your new location and what you can manage.

The further you explore, the more you will uncover. While it will not necessarily be inherent or obvious, and will take some time to learn about it, you will soon find a very important details:
➜ You are on some kind of ship named The Horologium.

➜ You are currently in space.*

➜ This ship has not been fully functional for some time.*

➜ There are hundreds of rooms similar to the one you woke up in. Some have Circle Members in them, some are empty, with the capsules built over the beds still sealed.

➜ There are also some larger rooms that still seem vaguely functional. The mess hall and kitchen, specifically, still seem to have access to some of the electricity stored on this ship and can be used. The bathrooms and showers as well.

➜ There are also more doors that appear to be locked and will take some more investigation to be able to open/explore further.*

➜ You do not know what happened to the original crew, if there ever was one.*

➜ Your watches are functional, but like the ship, seem to be operating on minimal functionality. You can contact other Circle Members who are on the ship with little issue, but any extra functions the watches have will not work. Also, the further into the ship members explore, the more likely there will be issues with communication.

➜ The loud rumble you heard when you first woke up continues, though spread out. Every few hours you will hear it again, and the power on the ship will flicker. Your watches, too, will be affected by the sound before returning to their normal functions.
*These are details or aspects of the ship that will need to be further explored. Those who have knowledge/understanding of technology will be able to hack in/work on this, but it is not limited to only these types of characters. If you’re interested in your character exploring other aspects of the ship, comment below and we can let you know what they will uncover/etc. It will then be up to your character to share that information, but it is up to you how you decide to do that.
MOD QUESTIONS is where you can comment to explore any of the above-mentioned aspects of the ship, and we ask that you specify what you are looking into/what you would like your characters to figure out and how your character will be looking into it.

AREAS OF INTEREST is where you will need to specify by room if you are looking into things regarding the ship.

AN UNSETTLING SOUND
As mentioned before, the low but all-encompassing rumble you heard when you first woke up will persist. It will be spread out by at minimum 90 minutes, and at max four hours. It will not be on a regular schedule, and it will vary in intensity--sometimes more quiet, seeming further away, and sometimes closer and much louder. The sound shakes the entire ship around you, like an earthquake. It is almost impossible to tell where it's coming from other than below.

Every time the rumbling occurs, the electricity on the whole ship will flicker. This also applies to your watches, even if they are not directly connected to any kind of power source. It feels threatening, but you're not exactly sure why.

THE SOUND is where characters who wish to look into this noise can comment. There is no promise that your character will find anything at all. It all depends on the skills and Astoria-powers they have at their disposal, and how creative you'd like to get with it. ;)

AREAS OF INTEREST/ PLOT INTERACTIONS.
This ship, from what you can tell, is giant. No matter where you go or where you turn, it feels as though hallways go on for miles. But more than that, the uniform look of the walls, rooms, and walkways makes it very easy to get lost. Didn’t you just turn around that corner? Are you back where you started? Why does it feel like you’re lost, you know exactly… where you are...don’t you?

Beyond the hallways and bedrooms that you woke up in, there are a few areas of interest that you are more than welcome to use, live in, and explore. Below, please comment if your character is going to be spending particular time focused on exploring in these places, as there might be something to find. We will be updating this section as the doors are unlocked and new rooms/information about the rooms are found.
➜ As pointed out, the rooms near the kitchens and southwest wing are leaking (food and water respectively). Hank is going to start repairs, and will be sharing this with other members of the Circle. A little elbow grease, some Astoria Powers, and possibly material found searching the ship will be of use to help conserve.

1.) BEDROOMS.

The rooms themselves appear somewhat sterile and dark, grey walls and sleek metal. The lights are dim and yellow, as if whatever had been supplying electricity had kicked to an alternate, power-saving mode. They pulse, lowly, but provide enough light for you to move around. The rooms are conservative in size, with enough room for the four built in beds, room to walk around, a small table and four chairs, and a door leading out.

Each of the built in bunks are exactly the same--about twin bed sized, with a thin blanket and pillow. The machines you had heard are built into the space around it, like you had been sleeping in some kind of capsule. The door had opened when you woke up. There are three other capsules in this room, and depending on if your companions have awoken, they will either be open or remain closed. Not all of the beds in each of the bedroom areas will have Circle Members in them, and these will remain closed with a thick fog still filling the space inside.

There are details about the room you may notice--like how each bed has a small personal light within the space, and a square screen that does not seem to be currently functional. You wake up in your normal clothes, but with enough investigation, you will find a drawer that has a grey jumpsuit that fits your exact size, if you decide you would rather wear that.
( UPDATED INFORMATION FOUND BY THE CIRCLE MEMBERS WILL BE INCLUDED HERE IF MEMBERS DECIDE TO SHARE SAID INFORMATION. )

➜ Prompto (and countless others, surely) has discovered that the pods are empty. (HERE.) . Additionally, the rooms are barren, and void of personal effects.

➜ Hunk, once electricity is restored, will discover that the bedroom screens contain bio data of the passengers that lived there. (HERE.)

➜ Ryoko has discovered that there are spare jumpsuits on board, and that they seem to be made of technology that auto-fits to your body. (HERE.)

2.) MESS HALL/KITCHEN.

The mess hall itself is a large, almost cavernous room (think the size of an American football field, and about 20 feet tall). There are booths lined along the outside, as well as a small stage and plenty of room to socialize, collect, and otherwise spend time with others. There are basic equivalents to folding chairs in massive quantities, should you need them. Otherwise, it appears this room was used as a cafeteria. The room appears bare, and remains mostly shadowed as the power-save mode does not light the entire space. Most of the light you do get is from the stars through the massively large windows that line one wall. Space, in its entirety, is before you.

There is a single doorway to the kitchens, which appear to be commercial in size and scope. Trays and silverware can be found in the storage space, as well as a variety of cooking utensils. This room seems to be the only room with full functionality and access to power. However, once you open what you can only assume is a fridge-equivalent, you will come to find there is very little in the ways of food. There are substitutes, that once water has been added will turn into a hyper-nutritious kind of goo, but that’s about it. Water is not impossible to find, but is not in excess. There will need to be a kind of rationing, or it will run out in just over a week’s time.
( UPDATED INFORMATION FOUND BY THE CIRCLE MEMBERS WILL BE INCLUDED HERE IF MEMBERS DECIDE TO SHARE SAID INFORMATION. )

➜ Hank and Connor have discovered a source of electricity in the mess hall/kitchen area, that seems to be stable! (HERE.)

➜ The kitchen and mess hall combined is huge, and suited to seat about 500-600 people. (HERE, HERE.)

➜ There is a water filtration system on board that recycles used water. Use your imaginations. (HERE.)

3.) LOUNGE AREA.

The next room you may come across looks to be some kind of lounge. The space is roughly the same size as the mess hall and kitchens, but rather than booths and tables, a variety of couches and more comfortable looking chairs encircle small tables. There are three very large tables situated around the room as well, with at least 20 chairs each. There are no windows in this room that you can see, but there seems to be a very large screen that takes up most of one of the walls. However, the access to the room is limited by the yellow power-save lights that just barely fill the room.

With some investigation, you will come across a few storage spaces, filled with…board games of some kind? You’re not sure, as the instructions are in some language that no one is really sure how to read. There are also quite a few notebooks, slips of paper, and more equipment that is foreign but interesting.
( UPDATED INFORMATION FOUND BY THE CIRCLE MEMBERS WILL BE INCLUDED HERE IF MEMBERS DECIDE TO SHARE SAID INFORMATION. )

➜ Look, some of your fellow members found some video games! (HERE, HERE.)

➜ There's also some components for tabletop. (HERE.)

➜ There also seems to be some star-shaped currency stuck in the couches. (HERE, HERE.)

➜ Aphra has managed to translate some of the notebooks located in the Lounge (HERE.)

4.) LOCKED DOORS.

Please be aware that there are multiple locked doors to be explored/looked into. If you have one that your character would gravitate towards, please look below and let us know important information (are they looking for larger ones? Ones further away from the rooms?) as well as how your character would go about investigating the doors (are they technologically inclined and therefore would have starting points? Does your Astoria-granted power help? Are you planning on just beating it with a stick until it opens?) as that will help us let you know what you might find. :)
( UPDATED INFORMATION FOUND BY THE CIRCLE MEMBERS WILL BE INCLUDED HERE IF MEMBERS DECIDE TO SHARE SAID INFORMATION. )

➜ Sheryl has found "general resources will range from packaged and canned food to basic medical supplies: think gauze and septic. As for the weaponry, the cache will mostly consist of pocket and folding knives." (HERE.)

➜ Hank and Firo have found "something akin to a pantry that withholds a stash of food and first-aid related amenities. It seems to be enough for approximately 100 people. While the bulk of it is basic first aid, mostly ranging from bandages to septic, there are a few more advanced kits amongst the cache. They contain medical pliers, unlabeled antibiotics, a slick unidentifiable gel and a few scalpels." (HERE.)

➜ Shiro, Hunk, and Keith have found a room that has "a store of weaponry! There are three ray guns, a laser sword, and what appears to be some slingshots." (HERE.)

➜ Merlin has discovered "a cache of tools, ranging from hammers to powerdrills, and a few hefty pairs of rubber gloves." (HERE.)

➜ Takeru has found "a supply of packaged seeds — they seem to be for tomatoes, potatoes and squash. Aside from that will be a store of spare shoes, soap and sanitizer!" (HERE.)

➜ Lucina and Yang have found, through another locked door, a bedroom with four closed capsule and a small box between the four unopened capsules, that contains what looks like a alien children's coloring book, a small stuffed creature of some sort, and some wrappers that could have been to candy bars or some other type of snack. (HERE)

➜ Yang and Prompto will bust their way through another locked door and find a storage room of some kind (how many space closets does this place have??) that contains mostly empty boxes. Searching through all of them, though, they will find a crate of water bottles. Though about 1/3rd of these bottles are empty, there are still approximately 25 full bottles of water that approximately equate to 16 ounces each.(HERE)
LOCKED DOORS: NEW LOCATIONS DISCOVERED.
➜ Vanille, Fang, and Percival found a room "that is a bit of mess — boxes torn apart, cloth strewn throughout the room, skid marks and dried plasma staining the floor. They'll find a few rayguns, bulletproof clothing and... Scented bath materials? Lavender, hydrangea, popcorn and watermelon specifically." (HERE.)

➜ Connor and Prompto have managed to locate "a gaping hole, or what could be construed as an elevator or lift shaft. Currently not functional." (HERE, HERE.)

➜ Yang, Ren, Keith, Shiro, and Ruki have managed to break down a door located by Morrigan and Barabas to find "a garden that seems to have been left by the old crew. The plants appear to be rotting and decayed away, however." (HERE.)

➜ Alisaie, Molly, Nott, and Percy have managed to stumble across "an abandoned workout facility. She needs to exercise caution, because the room itself appears to be both 1) nonfunctional and 2) lacking in gravity." (HERE, HERE.)

➜ Zari and co. have (possibly) found the Bridge! And are also working to restore electricity to the ship as a whole. (HERE.)

➜ York, North Dakota, and Carolina have found a room where "it looks as if it was a fight of the century in there, with no survivors. There are bones scattered throughout it, and they re old. It looks as if there has been a total shitshow bloodfight in here. There are giant claw marks on the walls, that look gouged into the metal. There are no signs as to what caused this, or how they got in or out. It just looks utterly destroyed." (HERE.)

➜ Shiro has found a storage room near the lounge that has more gaming equipment and space loungewear. (HERE)

IN SUMMATION:
➜ You are trapped on a space ship named Horologium that seems to have been abandoned by its prior crew.

➜ There is a very spooky, very unsettling noise emanating throughout the ship. Exploring it will take a pretty good group of Circle members to track it down, and at this time, there is no real understanding as to what it is.

➜ There is a general sense of unease that will be hard to shake. It will have psychological effects as the days go on -- feeling like you're being watched, like shadows are moving outside of your control.

➜ Be aware: there is no day/night differentiation. Water is scarce but not impossible to get ahold of, and the food is underwhelming (unless someone decides to take initiative). What you do and what you spend your time doing is up to you, but restlessness is pretty much expected.

➜ There are a number of locked doors that can be broken into by the Circle members. What you find inside them can be discovered by picking a number below, and feel free to play out breaking into the rooms and finding whatever you discover inside!

➜ You seem to be the only ones on the ship . . . aside from the spooky noise, anyway.

➜ Electricity will have to be restored to the ship in order to obtain some functionality and unlock some new areas. Right now, basic generators are assisting in oxygen and the ability to breathe.

➜ There is no way off the ship. You're a bit stuck.

➜ Your canon powers will NOT be working. Only Astoria-granted powers apply!

➜ Your communicators will be working, but there will be interference with video/voice/text every time the sound reverberates throughout the ship. The further you explore the ship, the more crackling your communicators become. However, they still work!

mod note.
This is your world to explore. Ask questions, get involved. Some of the places above has specified the need for player exploration in order to uncover, so please touch on everything you'd like to touch on. We as mods are giving you a setting to play with as you'd like! What happens here in Horologium is entirely based on your character's involvement. There will be plenty to interact with, little background plots to get mixed up in, and a new location to explore. Ask questions! Pull one of us aside for some cool plotting! Figure out what you want to do and how you want to do it, and go.

We are aware that there will most likely be characters who are more inclined to a "space/sci fi" setting than others, but please know that us mods are here and we are prepared to help find ways for characters of all kinds to get involved! Do not hesitate to reach out.

Reminder: the log for this world jump will be posted February 12th at 9:00 PM EST. This post is purely for plotting, and there's a place below for questions and for the world interactions! Otherwise, feel free to leave a plotting comment below! Find some other Circle Members to explore with!

Astoria is very excited for you to enjoy your fourth World Jump~ ♥

Baby's first event and it taps into so many of his fears. MOLLY DOES NOT LIKE BEING ALONE OR FEELING ALONE OR THINGS HE CAN'T ESCAPE FROM, and because this place is so weird and unsettling, he will probably cling frantically to... well, mostly Nott. And also anyone who he's met previously... Or whoever's around really. If you want a clingy, useless fantasy person, he's your tief.

That said, he is curious and will probably be investigating the Lounge because it seems to have the most interesting stuff, but he's gonna be insisting Nott break into the doors too, as if she wouldn't do it already.

But yes, I am down for everything!

Ren probably isn't going to be too happy with being relatively confined like this, but that just means he's probably going to nose into everything he can...the bedrooms especially, and probably the kitchen. His Astoria-granted power should also make it a little bit easier for him to break down some doors if he gets curious enough, so if anyone wants to check out some doors, then he might be your guy! He'll also definitely be trying to follow that sound eventually, because he's too curious to not do it.

Since he'll probably be nosing into everyone else's business too and kind of trying to gauge how well everyone is holding up since it seems like a somewhat stressful environment, he's also open for if people need help dealing with the psychological aspects of the setting. Since he's new, I'd like to get him out there getting new CR as much as I can!

This is definitely going to bring back some memories for North, who's spent a good deal of time in space. He'll be interested in the ship and might be able to help with layouts and stuff like that. And possibly getting some things working. And missing his AI because Theta could help in a time like this.

He'll probably be setting up a bedroom as a sort of home base for the time being.

He'll also be interested in unlocking some doors, or getting York to unlock some doors, so anyone who'd like to help there is appreciated. He'll probably take a stab at trying to unlock it himself since his power probably won't be too helpful here. But if that doesn't work he's probably going to try more old fashioned methods. Like kicking it in.

KEITH, BARABAS, QUENTIN

[personal profile] lonered 2019-02-11 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
KEITH will be making his way through locked doors, or at least trying. He wants to find out what happened to the crew and is hoping they'll find something in this searching. He's all for teaming up.

Keith gets technology in that he knows how to use it and can figure things out. But he's no hacker, and if it's broken, he's not the one to put it back together. Unless it's an engine.

BARABAS is going to be focus on keeping everyone alive. Rations and supplies and basic necessities -- figuring out what they have and what they need and how to bridge that gap.

If anyone gets the computers up, he'll jump into information diving as fast as he can.

QUENTIN is going sound-chasing and will 100% want people to go with. He is not cool wandering through a ghost ship in space alone. Thanks.

Please come quest with him?

So, Sheryl's going to be happy about this.

I mean, obviously not *happy* about this, but being back in her element (instead of ye olde ages or waterworld) is going to be weirdly comforting. She will be happy to try and acclimate anyone who's not used to living in space like she has been for, uh, her entire life. (If the artificial gravity ever goes out, she will be happy to teach people zero-G movement, too.)

She only has a fairly consumer-level understanding of sci-fi tech, but that might be beyond what a lot of other people have? Also, she grew up a street urchin so she is secretly good at breaking locks.

SPACE KIDS ASSEMBLE and non-space kids who need the space kids to show them what to do???

oh man. yang is going to be intrigued but also eager to figure out what's going on and where they are. she's going to be attempting to open some of those locked doors, probably via punching it down if she can. but she'll also help people out who're trying different methods if they need it.

and as soon as people can get some of the tech up and working, yang will be eager to help with info gathering as well!

Okay so both space and locked doors are York's jam. He is not only a professional (and moderately successful!) lock picker, but his Astoria-granted power is phase shift so word is he will be able to get into three or four of the sealed doors. He'll be looking for advice on which ones to try phasing through, and will phase the door itself or pick the locks for others to get in according to what he sees inside.

If anyone who might want to team up has preferences on what he tries to get into, lmk!

There's also the possibility of him getting stuck!! And needing someone to break down or unlock the door from the other side to free him from a room if it's too hard for him to get into and he burns through his ability.

WHO WANTS TO MAKE FUN OF A NERD KID WHO FOR SOME REASON THINKS THE MOON IS A PLANET.

Anyway, in the (badly, not well thought out) world of MHA, they haven't been able to make it to the moon yet since people are going all super hero and everyone is entertaining enough with that. So this little dweeb doesn't know all that much about space and probably couldn't name all the planets if he tried. Please tease him or ask if he hit his head.

Other than that he's probably going to chase after the sound because he's stupid curious like that. If there is danger on the ship, DEKU WILL PROBABLY FIND IT.

He can also punch down doors! But he's limited to like one per day and he might throw up on you but he's willing to help where he can?

Shiro is going to start off on edge. Waking in a capsule is not going to go over well. He'll be on very on edge. However, these are the things he will want to achieve. He'll assist anyone willing to help with these objectives or just be their back up if they need it.

- Investigate main areas and establish how damaged they are. It's essential they make sure their present area is secure. He'll help people set up however they can but he'll avoid the capsule beds.
- Open up all main areas and seek out what happened to the ship and crew if one existed. Naturally, anyone that wants to help is welcome to join him.
- Figure out what that noise is. It's causing their watches and the power to flicker. That needs to be dealt with.

Miyuki will be doing a little bit of exploring and trying to catalogue information the best he can, so he'll be keeping an eye on happenings and trying to piece things together from there. He's more than happy to accept help, especially considering he'll definitely be feeling the Space Madness once it starts to settle in. As happy as he is to be among the stars, the whole abandoned space ship thing is scary as hell.

Also, he'd be glad to tag along if someone has an Astoria-granted power that'll help to unlock doors. He doesn't have any actual skill in doing that, but he's okay in mimicking and following anyone trying to get through the doors.

Ryoko's going to be exploring a little bit more, stunned at being in space of all places, but once she's got over that she'll want to look into those doors as well. She also has the ability to fix small objects, so if there's something that may need to be fixed up, she might be able to help. This probably won't help with the electricity, but it's an option! But really, she'll be fretting a bit but putting on her brave face to explore. It's her first time doing this in a new place, so she's gotta be upbeat about it!

KONOHA

A.K.A. The space centaur now serving as your cornucopia food goddess

Konoha is from like 1600's Japan she's not cool with this Space Stuff, so for at least the first while she'll mostly be terrified of the idea of being in the sky, hugging the walls away from the windows, etc.

But as the goop food and low water situation becomes apparent she will be stepping up in a big way to feed the Circle using her Astoria power, which is summoning food. She can't summon straight water but she can summon water-rich foods. Hope you like cucumbers and apples.

She's a tech dumbie so she won't be much use exploring actual ship mechanics or anything, so she'll be dedicating herself to making sure everyone doesn't starve and hoping people smarter than her can figure this out.

I'll def. have her doing a network post to advertise this service!

HOO BOY. This whole place is going to give Prompto the heebie-jeebies and crank up his anxiety because the kind of tech and architecture evokes some not-so-pleasant memories for him. He's going to be kinda high-key stressed and channeling a lot of his energy into a few different things.

First, he'll be investigating the bedrooms and the pods, because if they came out of them then it's possible that there are still people in them waiting to wake up. He doesn't want to leave anyone behind. Aside from that, he'll try to literally chase down the spooky sound with the aid of his Astoria powers. Apologies in advanced if he runs into you, literally. Finally, he'll want to help with locked doors — he doesn't quite have the skill to pick locks (he doesn't have that skill tree in his game), but he is technologically inclined so he can provide some support in that regard.

Overall, he just wants to get the hell out of here as soon as they can. Whatever he can do to expedite the process is where he will spend his time!

Connor's going to spend a good amount of time trying to get the electricity up and running again! It's very likely he'll want to partner up with anyone who's interested in doing the same. He'll be trying to get into the rooms with very large locked doors via hacking if at all possible, but someone helping him by way of utilizing brute force wouldn't go awry, either.

Other than that, he'll be checking out the rooms that already have some semblance of electricity and trying to unearth clues as to why this is, and where the source is located. (Maybe to help with the above.)

He'll also spend some time trying to track down the mysterious sound... in dog form. He'd happily join anyone else attempting to investigate the same thing!

ALISAIE

[personal profile] adelphoi 2019-02-11 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
as a ye olde fantasy elf alisaie will be super out of her element here, but that won't stop her from strongarming her way around..

she'll be totally lost as far as tech goes, but she's real good at smashing, be it with her sword, the old fashioned way, or with her acata powers! she can shapeshift into any animal from her home world, so like, giant aurochs that can ram into shit really hard, or tiny bugs or animals that can slip through cracks and keyholes and the like. so she'll probably be trying to smash in locked doors, as well as check out that spooky sound with everyone else, since that's more or less one of the biggest clues they have to follow, and she has 0 sense of self-preservation!!

also after struxta food goo for so long, then the strict seafood diet after that, she's gonna be hella complaining about the food situation, so there's that.

Hughes: We're out of his element again and no physical library in sight. Maes will be spending his time doing general recon, attempting to teleport to different areas, and mostly investigating the source of the sound. He will also be interested in getting some sort of system established to mark the halls they've been down in hopes of counteracting the maze-like situation...though it might not go very well.

Hunk: Will be on any Tech Team that forms. He can also be found in the kitchen to help with food preparation (great, Food Goo), but it sounds like his mechanical/tech skills will be of more use this time around.

Ruki: Will mostly just be wandering. She might look into the sound, since she knows very little about tech, or exploring the lounge area. A few games couldn't hurt right? What else is she supposed to do. I'm interested in anyone willing to drag her into something or might just throw her around at random since she's kind of out of her element. Her ability could be helpful for the darker hallways though as her summoned not!Patronous gives off some light.

FANG will be using her beefy, beefy arms to help Vanille ([personal profile] abraxis) open up one of the big locked doors at the start of this adventure, which will take up most of her first day. She'll likely continue this throughout the mission. She cannot produce food, but she is able to cook it if enough is acquired. Mostly she'll be a little out of her depth unless she's doing exploratory/information gathering things that people require some brute force in. She will be particularly interested in the Sound and will want to join in on anything involving that.

Also! Being in a big enclosed space is a prime opportunity for her to discover her power: she is an empathy sponge, and is able to absorb negative emotions and take them on to herself, which creates a temporary negative physical effect for her and a mood boost for anyone she uses it on. If you would be interested in having her purge your character of all that horror movie esque paranoia they might be feeling, her permissions post is here.

A2 is also a meathead, sadly, but has her Pod who is able to do some scanning/recon of the area. Her interest will be the locked doors, the weird sound and possibly, if it's allowed, having Pod try to map out the discovered areas. She is deceptively very strong and good with a sword, so she'll also be a good option to join team Brute Force through Doors. She will be more okay than the humans initially but will dislike the situation, dislike the similarities to the Bunker she was created in, and the encroaching sense of paranoia will affect her very poorly.

I am deeply interested in her getting in some randomized roommate nonsense.

CAYDE

[personal profile] sendinthecavalry 2019-02-11 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
While the siren song of loot is going to be too hard for Cayde to resist, he's actually going to be high-key trying to gather up a lot of the journals and notes that are littered around to try and translate them to get a look into what was going on on the ship.

He'll be designating his room as a repository for all these, so expect to see a lot of papers everywhere if you pop in. Cleanliness is secondary to solving what could potentially be interesting information.

Sitting in one place, however, isn't his style so he'll also be making regular runs deeper into the ship to try and crack open doors when he has a moment. Being a robot, he doesn't need to eat, drink, or breathe, so if there are less-than hospitable areas he's probably going to try to break into those first.

A4/No.4 will be around, feeling very unsettled by the ship. Space is going to remind her of being back "home" on her satellite base. Of course, A4 will just keep being A4 and act like nothing's wrong by covering it smiles. Unfortunately her powers will be useless for investigation, unless you're reckless and damage your clothing... she may be able to provide a spare set.

Her priorities are going to be attempting to bust through the locked doors and following the noise. She's tougher than she looks, so if you need another person for breaking things open, she's your girl!

HISOKA
Hisoka will be leaving a trail of toys around to mark his progress. They will be of all variety, all cute, all pretty much useless, although you may come across him trying to lockpick a door with one of them if they have something a little pointy. I will pretty much be using that as a general wildcard 'follow the toys, meet this weird ass clown'. He will be trying to get in to some locked doors.

ZEE
There are so many options Zee doesn't know what she wants to do! She will probably just be wandering around asking if she can help you with anything. If you need someone with strength: she can go gorgon form for you.

ILDE
She's really just going to let everyone else do all the work here. If you ask her to 'bless' your endeavor with her Inspiration skill, she'd be happy to.

Inspiration: A spell of lights which gives people the willpower to pursue their actions above and beyond their normal abilities. The effect grows when a group is banded together in a pursuit.

So she also has several light sources on her, both her ability and the necklace she wears. Bring her into the dark with you!

This is Ritsu's first jump and he doesn't know what the heck he's doing! So he'll specifically be looking to other Circle members to take cues from, meaning I am down to throw him at pretty much anything that doesn't need a specialised power o/ He can pick regular tumbler locks (although he didn't... bring a lockpick....), carry things, help look through paperwork, use his illusion power like a dumb short-range flashlight if he gets the opportunity... If you want CR we can come up with something :|b

He will also try to help kick in doors, especially ones that look a bit like offices because he'd think they need to know what happened to the crew before making plans, but whoops there's not that much of him he's a kid. An attempt is being made, ok.

Nier will be here to lend a helping hand to anyone who might need it — he's pretty eager to get out of here considering the uh, noise, so if anyone needs any help opening locked doors or investigating he'll help without any need for prior CR. He'll also be looking to take care of anyone who might be in need of it since it's a limited space and he needs something to do with his time. If you need a caretaker or have no idea what the hell you're doing, Nier is pretty much here at your disposal.

Percival is primarily interested in both investigating, gathering resources and organizing teams in preparation for a potential attack. Why? Because he's a soldier at his core. He'll likely be putting out a network post soon, trying to herd cats and make some attempt to keep track of people and what exactly they're doing. He's also willing to lend a hand wherever you need him, so feel free to use him as you please.

CALLING THE TECH ORIENTED (and those who can follow directions well)

[personal profile] hackedhistory 2019-02-12 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
So Zari has a two pronged project that she's going to be working on over the course of their first couple weeks on the ship. Given the size and scope of these projects, the mods have said that it's possible she could reduced the time if she got enough people to help her. These prongs are as follows:

  • POWER SOURCE: Zari is going to try and get the power source going so that the ship will be more functional! On her own, the project will take eight days, but if she gets 3+ circle members to help her, she can reduce that time down to five! This power source links to prominent screens as well as ... everywhere else. - Hunk has already volunteered to help, so we need at least two more!

  • FIND THE BRIDGE: Once the power is up and running, she also wants to try and find the bridge/any Captain's records or information so they can find what happened to the people there etc. According to the mods, she'll be able to find a room that is using a great deal of power, but it will take three days to get it going without help. If anyone is interested in helping here, she could also use extra hands as well!

  • So feel free to comment in to let me know! I'll likely throw up a starter for her featuring hooks for both scenarios that people will be free to tag in at their leisure, and people are also free to cycle through to other projects as they see fit.
