A NOTE FROM KATHASHUN.It's a normal day, when your watches light up. Something almost familiar about the sudden note that is shared between you all. But it's a different face you find in the video. Rather than the effervescent smile of Astoria, as some of you may have expected, Kathashun's appears.
Hello, everyone.
I know things have been...less than comfortable as of late. There is still a lot to be done here, I am aware, but as I've feared your work across the universes is not yet complete. I don't understand it wholly myself, but I've tapped into a source of magic here and it's leading me to another world specially. A next mission.
While my magic is nowhere near that of the witch who brought you all here, I can open the rift for a short period of time. Something is there, and it's pulling us to it. Something needs our attention, in this world, I know it. But I'm not going to simply drop you there as you have been abandoned in the past. I will be going to this world - I believe its called Sholun - and can take whoever wishes to join me.
I cannot promise your safety. I know not of what is in this world. But something is happening that is causing destruction, and we have to find a way to stop it. We have to.
[ there's a beat, where he looks concerned, before a thought occurs to him. ]
Except for trees. I did sense trees. Larger than I've ever seen, but...
It’s different than you’re used to. There’s no sudden feeling of waking up, of looking around to see the changes Astoria’s magic has made. Instead, it’s a rush - if you’ve decided to go, you’ll have to step through a rift. An actual, physical rift made into the space in front of you. You step in, and feel a rush, and when the feeling settles you’re met with the sight of a large forest.
Gigantic forest, actually. The trees are nearly fifteen feet in diameter, and reach up so far into the sky you’re not sure if you can see the tops. THE PEOPLEYou are only in this new world for a short period of time before you're discovered, creatures of wood and leaves and bark seem to crawl right out from the brush that surrounding you. Kathashun's magic--(or is it left over from Astoria?)--translates their strange language enough for you to communicate. They introduce themselves to you, and welcome you to your newest world: Shulon.
They walk you back to their village, apologizing profusely for their ramshackle homes. They're not used to living like this - with huts half-built and small tents spread haphazardly around. They explain that things haven't been great for them lately. Their usual way of life cannot survive if they don't. They call themselves The People, they bring you food and offer as much shelter as they can provide. Everything they have is made of vegetation, and so are they. All meals will be wholly and completely vegetarian.
After a quick tour, they bring you to their elder; a figure of old, ashy bark. He welcomes you, once again, to their world, their home. You are welcome to stay with them as long as you may need, and they can offer you food and drink to your heart's desire. But before you agree, you must be aware of the danger... THE PROBLEMThe People are peaceful, mostly, but have come under recent duress. Monsters like they’ve never seen before have started to attack the village. Their monstrous power is beyond anything the villagers have ever seen. The only way they've survived until this far has been through retreat, leaving them all but homeless except for the things they’ve been able to take with them.
The monsters, as they’ve described them, are similar to things you’ve fought in the past. They are built from what appears to be shadows; the things of nightmares, given physical forms. They are more beast-like than anything, with very little in the way of higher thinking or minds of their own. At least, that the villagers are aware of. The information they have gathered is that they are bloodthirsty, they attack unprovoked, and they will not stop unless destroyed. They are not impossible to defeat, but it feels like a war of attrition - no matter how much the villagers fight back, or kill them off, they always return. They are not attacking for food or survival, but simply for the thrill of the hunt.
It has been months, and the villagers are exhausted. But they are still fighting, and will keep fighting, if necessary.
Recently, one of their scouts has found the source of the creatures. A large, dark mass that sounds suspiciously like the rifts you're very familiar with tucked within the forest. They can bring you to it, if you are willing to face the danger.
They need your help. Stop the attacks, give them the peace and freedom they once had. THE MONSTERSYou gather enough information from the scouts in the village. You also learn more from your own investigations, and a few things are made irrevocably clear: ➜ They attack at night, when they appear to be the most active. You’re not sure why, there’s nothing you find that tells you they’re specifically averse to the sun, but each day as the sun sets and the light fades, you can hear the rumbling through the trees.
➜ They always travel in numbers, but don't necessarily act together. If they get in each other’s way, they may even turn on and attack each other. Not for long, but long enough that you are certain they have little to no loyalty to each other.
➜ The creatures move on four legs, crouched low like wolves. They are fast and active and strong. They have large jaws that open onto rows and rows of pitch black teeth. They have skin like leather, and razor-sharp claws. They move almost like smoke, or mist - uninhibited by anything physical in their way.
➜ They materialize through the rift, but will collect and wait for the next sundown before moving away from it. They seem to materialize at random, but if anyone spends enough time cataloging, there is a pattern. 7 minutes, then 37 minutes, 3 hours, and then it starts at 7 minutes again.
➜ They are weak to any high concentration of energy, especially the kinds that emit light. Close contact with non-magic weapons do very little damage. However, if you combine your weapon with any kind of magic, or a combination with another Circle member, the results are quite impressive indeed.
➜ They do not respond to language of any kind, and while they will respond to powers and abilities that deal with persuasion, the effects will last less than a minute. They do not, and will not, be able to be reached in any capacity. What you draw from it is simple - they are motivated by the urge to destroy life, specifically the Villagers, and they will not be stopped from that goal. MOD NOTES.Welcome to Chapter 2 of Acatalepsy, Circle Members! We want to thank you for your patience while we've been working to update the pages and get things going again. This is officially the first world jump of our next chapter, and we're very excited to share it with you.
SOME NEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:➜ World Jumps are much shorter now! Kathashun doesn't pack the same power as Astoria (and he respects free will a little too much) so the rift is only open for those who want to jump through, and will close one month after it was opened.
➜ Kathashun made it clear that your goal, this time around, is to close this rift. How you go about that is entirely up to you.
➜ Also keep in mind! The home you'll be returning to? Still in shambles. Be on the lookout for any supplies you might want to bring home with you. We will be posting the log for this event Sunday, August 18th at 9:00 PM EST! We're still working out a few things with this new chapter, so please don't hesitate to ask any and all questions below.

MOD QUESTIONS
Re: MOD QUESTIONS
Just want to make the chain of events clear to myself so I'm not sitting back thinking it's covered, when it might not be! Thank you!

And yes - come to us with your plan of action, so that we can advise what will happen accordingly!

Ilde is really not a fighter though and this has been a problem for her all along, so she always needs support and team work. Her power also works best when minds are united.
