the collected nations of struxta. You arrive in the middle of a city - a large metropolis of steel, glass, lights, and metal. It feels a bit like an electrical board, a maze of buildings, streets, cars and trains. A technologically advanced city beyond what you could ever imagine. Everything is streamlined- sleek and efficient- clean and without the slightest hint of dirt or grime. The skies are dark, almost like a single, looming cloud has covered the entirety of the city, possibly the entire world. There are strikes of lightning, intermittent and varied. Around you is a sprawling cityscape - buildings reaching up into the sky and beyond. Bright streaks of color scatter across the land before you - advertisements, signs, logos, titles. Despite the apparent lack of any kind of sun, the city itself is so brightly lit from the buildings and street lights alone. Holograms of massive size move between the buildings, like giants moving across the streets. You’ll find that the city is the capital of the Collected Nations of Struxta, known by the people simply as Struxta. Walking the streets are figures of all shapes and sizes - humanoid and not, from two or three feet tall to up to fifteen. Some look human, almost identical, and other looks exactly like robots. Because that is one of the things you have been told, upon your entrance here. This city is entirely electronic - from the buildings, down to the natives as well. This is the technological future every science fiction fan has dreamed of. An entire civilization of robotics - there is nothing of remotely natural description here. No plants, no animals, no humans (or human-adjacent) kinds. Think a clean, perfect version of the city and world Blade Runner was trying to be. THE NATIVESThe natives are as varied and different as you’d expect to see in any large, international city. The only difference, here, is that the variations are of the mechanical nature. Every figure and every native of the Collected Nations of Struxta are, as you might have guessed, robotic. There are no natural life forms anywhere, that you can see.
These natives vary - there are androids who look, perhaps a bit uneasily, exactly like a human would. Others are of the more work-force shape. And others, still, as different and varied as you can imagine, from all times of mechanical advancement. The one thing you will notice, though, is that no matter the state of technology, all of these natives have gained sentience. They are independent thinkers, with the ability to live, process, and understand as anyone else. There are, just as there are with any other society, variations in personality, emotion, etc.
They are aware that they are robotic, in nature, and see no issue with it at all. THE POLITICAL LANDSCAPEIn almost stark contrast to the previous jump, the political landscape in Struxta seems...almost perfect. There are few issues, few problems. From almost every political level, the nation seems at absolute peace. All problems are logically dealt with, votes are given where it is needed, but because of - what your characters will be told upon arrival is called - ‘The Mass Subconscious’ everything is done with everyone’s approval, and there doesn’t seem to be an unhappy robot i sight.
Because of this Mass Subconscious, there also doesn’t appear to be any political leaders, so much as a Political Organization Team, who is in charge of bringing in information, organizing it into easy to consume packets, and sends them out for download by every member of the Collected Nations for their vote.
There is no one leader, no one figure of power. Every single member of this gigantic city has a say, and more often than not that say is unanimous. AREAS OF INTERESTThe Hostel Just as it was in El Minha, it appears that upon arrival, each character is outfitted with a room at one of the largest, arguably most impressive skyscrapers in the city. Nearly two hundred stories tall, and with each floor nearly sixty floors. Every floor, every room, every door is of the highest tech and the more advanced security. The watches that Astoria has given each of the Circle Members act, in many ways, like a key, a credit card, an ID, and any other form of identification the players will need during their stay.
The bottom floor of the building is almost as large as a city block. It is open, sleek, and clean-cut. A kind of open meeting room, which has - upon inspection - been modified to include what appears to be a restaurant. Which - given the fact the group of Circle members who have arrived in the city - are the only natural bodies around? Includes the fact you are the only members of the city who have to consume food and nutrients through food and drink. Upon closer inspection, the technology used to make the food seems a few decades behind that of the rest of the city, but it still works, and the food can still be produced. It might taste a little weird and turn out to be some sort of glorified goop, but it has some nutritional value.

The Supercenter Have you ever wanted to go shopping in the most technologically advanced superstore possible? Here is your chance! It appears that if you use your watch, you have been given a moderate amount of credit to buy clothing, toys, electronics, items, and anything else that might suit your fancy. You will not have enough to buy anything significant, such as limbs, organs, advanced computer technology, etc. The Supercenter is attached, as most of the buildings seem to be in this city, by a roadway of interlocking bridges and stairways- to a point that you could, if you wanted to, move about the entire city without stepping foot outside.
There are no restaurants or drink bars, but there are plenty of areas to relax and people (android) watch if you so desire. Otherwise, shop, explore, find weird mechanical devices of the likes you could never imagine back home. Everything is automated, but there are still helpful employees of various appearances at each of the stories to help you decide and browse- small, flying blocks that speak in primarily beeping noises that (thanks to Astoria's wonderful watches) you can somehow understand, completely human-appearing androids of the utmost style and elegance, and everything in between.

The Races In the south-eastern area of the city, a large area of the city has been modified into a multi-level, vast, complicated race track of sorts. Think Tron, meets Speed Racer, meets a type of racing that is something all their own. It's fun as hell, fast as hell, and dangerous as hell. Sounds great, right?
What is simply known as ‘Racing’ here in Struxta is a complicated, but at its heart is exactly what it says: it is a race. A race of cars, through an obstacle course of everything you can imagine. It seems to all be linked, electronically, to a motherboard that decides - each race - what the drivers will find. Each race was drastically different, with dangers galore.
The rules are simple: if you have a car, and you have a driver, you are allowed to race. First one to complete the track, wins.
You might be able to find a sponsor, if you're willing to do some dirty work . . . or maybe someone incredibly stupid will let someone borrow their expensive car/bike. Either way, it's yours for the taking -- will you join the Races? WORLD INTERACTIONSIn our previous world, we offered a another chance for characters to get involved with the setting and the world. This previous post (here) was posted in the middle of the world exploration. After some discussion, we've decided to post the options up front, to give players various ways to interact, learn more about the city, etc. By commenting under the appropriate tag below, we will be able to more specifically give information and possible plot details to player who wish to explore more about the city than what we've supplied here.
If you have specific questions about the world, please comment to the Questions tag below. If you have certain areas your character will explore in the world, including but not limited to the below options, please comment under the World Interactions tag!
1.) Are you looking for work? While there isn't any immediate need for hands as most robots and other natives can fill that void, they will not turn you away! Want to run some errands across town? Want to interact with native shoppers? Want to see what it's like just being a normal android? 2.) Or are you more interested in talking one on one with one of the natives? The Hostel has a few on staff, specifically assigned to the Welcome Committee, who are more than happy to sit down and answer questions you might have. 3.) Want to explore the city? There are numerous neighborhoods, districts, areas, and buildings to explore. These include, but aren't limited to: industrial, residential, manufacturing, software development, merchant district, transportation, security, and many others. Something about your watch has given you access to everything and anything you might want to go see, even restricted areas and buildings normally kept from the regular population, so feel free to go check it out! 4.) Are you interested in some of those racing bikes? There is an entire district dedicated to the creation, practice, upkeep, and enjoyment of the multitude and variations that the vehicles can come in. Do you want to build something yourself? Just test out your skills in an area that is less likely to leave you a pile of scrap metal? What kind of questions would you ask? 5.) WILDCARD - if you have anywhere we haven't mentioned, or that you as a player think could be cool to see in a city like this, let us know! You'll never know what kind of information you might uncover! MOD NOTE As this is our second world jump, we wanted to make sure everyone is aware of one things - this is your world to explore. Ask questions, get involved. We as mods are giving you a setting to play with as you'd like! What happens here in Struxta is entirely based on your character's involvement. There will be plenty to interact with, little background plots to get mixed up in, and a city to explore. Ask questions! Pull one of us aside for some cool plotting! Figure out what you want to do and how you want to do it, and go. Reminder: the log for this world jump will be posted Wednesday, July 11th at 12 AM EST. This post is purely for plotting, and there's a place below for questions and for the world interactions! Otherwise, feel free to leave a plotting comment below! Find some other Circle Members to explore with! For some reminders of what the previous world jump OOC post looked like, here is the one for El Minha, our first world. And, as a note, canon powers will not work unless specifically stated. The only magic you have is what Astoria has already granted you. Astoria is very excited for you to enjoy your second World Jump~ ♥ |

EDIT; 1 - CONNOR WANTS TO MAKE SOME MONEY. He’s not below running errands to do this, but since he’s basically a detective android, he’d look for something more fitting of his skillset first. Any... murders needing solving, anyone? Cases of missing androids?
lost robot dogs?2- Connor will probably start things off right — by assaulting the natives with all manner of questions, mostly regarding the history of the city/planet. Mostly, if they can explain to him the origins of AI life on this world, and if there is a record of them achieving sentience. How and why this came to pass, etc.
He will also ask about the origins of the Mass Subconscious, and if one can meet with someone from the Political Organization Team...?
3 - He’ll follow all this up by doing his own research into any networks that he can; is there a place where he can spend all day pouring over old archives/data? He would focus on the history and politics of this world, and cross reference what he learns vs what he’s heard. He’s gonna spend forever in there, guys, since he can’t interface anymore. Weh.

Come gamble on some races, money aplenty there

but he'll bet on you if you can convince him you're good at this racing stuff, cayde

tit for tat, help him get a bike and he absolutely will guarantee at least double a return on the investment :V

he'll see what he can do :v

3 - Where will he be asking these questions? Because if he is asking the general public/someone he would find out in the city, he wouldn't get much more than a shrug or some confused beeps. If he asks the Welcome Committee, they would respond that there had been they had masters and makers in the very beginning, who had created the original AI. A beginning that was so long ago, there is very little data left on the larger populous server, but he'd be welcome to go and explore those questions in the Library.
There are museums and libraries! It would depend on what he would want to search out. There are plenty of museums to celebrate the art and history of the nations, city, and different types of robots. These museums can be as big as the Hostel - aka, up to hundreds of stories tall, with rooms as large as a city block. It would take days to search through them all. Libraries, as well, as specialized depending on topic and type of study, but if he asked the Welcome Committee, they would point him to one called The Library, which would have everything.
As for an explanation of the Mass Subconscious, as far as a general explanation of the Mass Subconscious, they would tell him first- every robot with sentience, because there are a few models who are not compatible and therefore are used as machinery and not for thought, processing, or opinions of that nature, is connected to a single database. At any given moment, any of these systems can access, archive, search, etc. through this database. It has achieved, in a way, mass empathy. Every single native experiences every other native's thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It seems like a lot to process, but that is why their systems are so advanced - to a point that they can, while also continuing through their day.
3 - He is welcome to do research in both the Library and the Mass Subconscious, but as a fair warning, the amount of information is overwhelming, and there will be near to no way for him to actually find anything unless he devoted all of the hours of his day for a week or so to researching it all. He is welcome to join the group that is going to the Library, but he is looking as thousands of years worth of data. He will find that nothing he has been told is a lie, but there have been parts that aren't expanded upon during normal conversation. Does he have something he'd focus on specifically?

1. Not as fulfilling as investigating murders, but he’ll take up tracking down lost goods as a job. I take it these are rather straightforward "cases" and Connor will be able to do them with little to no issue; would the pay be substantial enough after a few jobs to purchase a generalized array of replacement parts for himself?
2. Connor would stop asking the locals once it becomes clear there’s no real information to be had there. He’d rely on the Welcome Committee, then, and likely visit The Library to dig around.
3. ...and subsequently find himself overwhelmed by how much data there is. Connor would do his darnest to focus on these subjects to narrow down his search: who/what was the first AI, what happened to the makers and masters, if it’s possible to completely disconnect from the Mass Subconcious, and if there were ever periods of unrest in this supposedly perfect society.
Bonus question: since Connor is an android, would there be a local way for him to connect to the Library or Mass Subconcious and process this data in a more expedient manner? I know that canon powers are null here, but if there’s a native way to do the same thing, and he’s compatible, he’d give it a try.

3. There are some groups who are going to the Library together to try and divide up the search and pick away at the information separately, if Conner would like to join them! This would actually be extremely necessary for him to find the answers to those questions, but if he does work at it with some help, he will find that there is information.
We will have to ask that because of the sheer amount of data, it will take some time. Would he be taking part in this search before or after his jobs to get his replacement parts?
Bonus: He can plug into the Mass Subconscious and the Library for more expedient searching, however he will find that his software isn't quite up to date enough to be able to process the data. He can find it, and he can plug into it, but it will likely have some negative consequences to his own AI. He will be able to plug in to see that he can do it without any consequences, but any furthered attempts to search and download and process the data will not be easy. Would he continue?
As his player, you are allowed to know that it is completely possible if he does decide to plug in and try to download the information, he would overheat and most likely shut down entirely, with his software almost completely fried. If he has someone who could bring him back (with the correct software and also materials, there's a chance he might have found the answers to all his questions and more. High risk, high reward!

Connor would indeed join the group who are going to the Library! Anything to make life easier! Regarding replacement parts, ICly, he would probably... get too caught up in investigating and save replacement part searching for any extra time he might have after digging around in the Library. (If he has any extra time at all.)
Regarding plugging in and frying his brain, yes. He would proceed, because I am mean to my characters it's IC for him to throw himself into danger anyway -- plus the potential for information is too tempting to not try.
So that being said, if he does overheat, I would definitely reach out to players to see if there is anyone who could aid him and bring him back when this happens. Because this is too good to pass up.
OH I forgot to ask -- if he can find someone with the power to heal inorganic items, would this be enough to bring him back online and mostly whole?
no subject
Just for our sake- would he try and plug into the Library, or the Mass Subconscious, as depending on which one fries him would decide what and how much information he might have when he is brought back (if you decide to go further with this plot!).
Just let us know who will be helping him and when, and we'll be happy to supply the info then!

Connor would attempt to connect to the Library first!
And I will see who's interested in aiding Connor in this dangerous endeavor! I'll touch base with you guys again once I know. Thank you for answering all my questions, and I'm excited!

I have an... array of people who would be willing to help, actually; Angela and Allura, plus a few others willing to hop in if needed/desired. (Riza, 9S, Wash, and potentially anyone else who expresses interest LOL. I'm down for as many people reviving him as needed.) This will happen when Connor is with the group going to the Library as a whole, so the latter will likely be around to witness this disaster unfold as well.
OOCly, I will likely just top level in the world jump log, or wherever the Library group is doing their thing, basically. Will there be mod/npc tags for this thread? If so, I can provide a link to my top level when it goes up.
One final thing: how does one actually plug in? Connor can connect wirelessly and try to download the data that way, or he can interface via touch. However, both of these are technically canon powers. Will they work in this particular instance? Or is there a world-specific way of connecting? (So that I know what to write!)
no subject
OOCly, a top level would be a perfect opportunity for the event to take place! There will not be mod interaction/npc interaction for this event, as at the sight of an issue occurring, it actually seems as though the receptionist bots have suddenly disappeared. If you have any question, though, please feel free to let us know! Otherwise, it's all y'all! Just let us know about how many days into the World Jump this would take place (approximately) as there may be other ramifications. :)
Conner will be able to interface with touch, and will be able to download that way, via the screens that are available in the middle of each room. Other than that, have fun!

-who/what was the first AI? what sparked machine life to gain sentience? Connor comes from a canon where androids are trying to become independent from humans, so he has an IC reason to focus on this.
-what happened to the makers and masters? what’s happened to biological life in this world in general?
-can the natives here work independently of Mass Subconscious? can they disconnect and be autonomous, and are there negative consequences to that?
-signs of political unrest in Struxta’s history, how this “perfect society” even came to be. If there are signs of current unrest during present day.
