A NEW SOUND | THE BRIDGE | THE HOROLOGIUM | INFO SUMMARY MOD QUESTIONS: INTO THE BELLY | THE BRIDGE | GENERAL
SIGNUPS INTO THE BELLY: GROUP A, GROUP B, GROUP C, DEATHS THE BRIDGE: GROUP A, GROUP B, GROUP CThe days and nights have started to blur. With the help of your fellow Circle Members there is more access to food, water, and electricity but you are still stuck on a stranded ship in the middle of space. There are only clues and a single voice to tell you what happened. Whether or not you trust your new friend is your decision, but it does seem like she has something to say. All of your exploration has turned up very little. Most of the doors have been opened, but only a few hold anything of significance. Even then, it feels a lot more like they’ve led to more questions than answers. And that sound? It's starting to drive you crazy-- if it hasn't already. Where is it coming from? Why is it so far away? What could it be? You might have an answer, soon. A NEW SOUND.There is no warning. One moment you are hearing the same distant rumble and feeling the same sense of fear and uncertainty. Oh, I know this, just give it a few moments and it will end, but that isn't the case this time. The rumbling happens, then the ship goes quiet, and then - suddenly - there is a loud explosion of sounds from the depths of the open lift shaft.
Anyone near that hallway will be able to distinguish the sound as one of the doors, a long way down the shaft, being blown open. The explosion is enough to send a shuddering through the entire floor.
A new opening has been discovered. What will you do?
➜ SIGN UP TO EXPLORE if you want to venture down into the ship. There will be a few teams allowed to go and explore. You will be assigned a location on the log itself. Full descriptions of the locations will also be provided on the log itself. For now, it's a mystery!
That being said, be aware of the following when signing your character up for this portion of the event:➜ The network will not be working.
➜ Your powers may be affected in the belly of the ship. This could involve the negation of Astoria-given powers, a return of your canon powers, or an improvement to your Astoria-given powers. You will find out before the log goes up, so you will be able to plan accordingly.
➜ There will be elements of horror in this part of the event. If there is something you would like the mods to be aware of regarding triggers, aspects you would rather avoid, etc. please let us know! These elements could involve body horror, death, psychological horror, etc.
➜ If you do not want to encounter these themes, do not sign up for this portion of the event.
➜ SIGN UP FOR CHARACTER DEATH if you would like your character to be considered for death. Death will be randomized, but we will only be choosing out of the characters whose players have consented to having their character die.
➜ Please be aware that character death will take your character out of commission for a certain amount of time. Character death may involve some later plot relevant information. You just won’t know unless your character is the one to die.
➜ As per the FAQ, all characters have one freebie character death without consequence. If your character has already died once (in this particular instance, this includes all robots who have been ‘fried’ as well), please make the mods aware in your post.
➜ You will be packing enough clothing/food/etc to take with you. And unless your team decides to cut your exploration short, you will be gone for the whole week. THE BRIDGE.Thanks to a few very determined individuals in the circle (HERE and HERE) electricity has been restored to the ship and a room has been uncovered that appears to be the Bridge. It has been a process to get this up and running, and conspicuously around the same time as the explosive noise erupts from the lifts, the Bridge systems come to life.
It is in a language that the Circle Members do not understand, and for some reason the bracelets cannot translate it. Luckily, there is enough information to get started. A few helpful individuals can teach other Circle members to decipher what they find, and how they can search through all of this information.
There is a wealth of recordings, logs, images, and other files to be uncovered. It will be impossible for one, or even a couple, people to do it alone.
For those less inclined to head down into the lifts and hunt down whatever is causing the sound, there is plenty of work to be done.➜ SIGN UP TO DECIPHER, this section of the event will also include teams. Please list out anything you think would be helpful for other Circle members to know. For example: are you super intelligent? Will your powers help? Are you from a puzzle game and therefore created to be good at something like this?
➜ These teams will not be randomized. You are open to build teams based on other characters who are joining this aspect of the event. Please reach out to other kids signing up to help build your group! Team up! Find some new CR!
➜ Characters will remain on the Bridge for the rest of the time. They will be working with others within the Bridge to uncover messages, information, translate videos, and find hidden meanings within the things they find. (Yay puzzle games!)
➜ There are three major messages to be deciphered on the Bridge. Deciphering all three will grant the Circle a lot of clues. Sign up wisely. Characters cannot sign up for more than one group. THE HOROLOGIUM.Regardless whether you decide to go hunting down into the belly of the ship, stay on the Bridge to help decipher messages, or go your own way: there is still something off about the ship. You might already know this, because everything about this ship is wrong in some way. This is different. This is worse.
In fact, you may start to see, hear, or feel things that aren't really there. You might experience dark thoughts you didn't think you had. More than the captivity, strange food, and lack of a day/night - something is getting to the people on the ship. Something you can't quite pin down.➜ There will be psychological effects in this plot that will be described in further detail on the log. It is up to you as a player if you wish to partake. These effects will be more intense for those in the belly of the ship, but will reach all levels, and all characters.
➜ Some effects may include: auditory and visual hallucinations, rampant paranoia, feeling as if people are watching you, feeling as if people are out to get you, and disorientation.
➜ Character on character violence may occur in any area of the ship. Character death may also occur in any area of the ship. You do not need to sign up for character death if your character is killed by another character.
➜ Please keep in mind all of the rules associated with death if you choose to go that route. IN SUMMATION:➜ There is an opening in the lift of the ship, where something is lurking. It's making that noise.
➜ In addition, the Bridge is now fully functioning, and seems to have a wealth of messages that the Circle can now access and/or translate, if they decide to take the time.
➜ This is an event with horror-like themes. The whispers you have been hearing, the unease you have been feeling, it is going to get a lot worse. Psychological effects will start to take place all over the ship, no matter what aspect of this log you decide/do not decide to take part in.
➜ Please be respectful of others, and utilize TW/CW in threads as needed.
➜ There is no way off the ship. You're stuck.
➜ Character on character violence due to the Horologium playing tricks of the mind is acceptable and may occur regardless of which area of the ship you are on.
➜ MOD QUESTIONS is where you can comment to ask specific questions about what your character would do on either aspect of the plot.
➜ INTO THE BELLY OF THE SHIP is where you will sign up to take the plunge into the darkness. :)
➜ THE BRIDGE is where you will sign up to decipher what in the hell is going on.
➜ And, a reminder . . . some worlds fail. Maybe the Circle will be more fortunate this time around. If you survive the night.
mod note. This is your world to explore. Ask questions, get involved. Some of the places above has specified the need for player exploration in order to uncover, so please touch on everything you'd like to touch on. We as mods are giving you a setting to play with as you'd like! What happens here in Horologium is entirely based on your character's involvement. There will be plenty to interact with, little background plots to get mixed up in, and a new location to explore. Ask questions! Pull one of us aside for some cool plotting! Figure out what you want to do and how you want to do it, and go.
We are aware that there will most likely be characters who are more inclined to a "space/sci fi" setting than others, but please know that us mods are here and we are prepared to help find ways for characters of all kinds to get involved! Do not hesitate to reach out.
Reminder: the log for this event will be posted March 8th at 9:00 PM EST. This post is purely for plotting, and there's a place below for questions and for the world interactions! Otherwise, feel free to leave a plotting comment below! Find some other Circle Members to explore with!

GENERAL QUESTIONS.
INTO THE BELLY OF THE SHIP.
You can sign up for one group. Where you wind up in the ship will be discovered on the log post themselves. However, signing up for groups do have particular advantages/consequences.
Additionally, there is also a section for signing up for character death. You can do this regardless of what group you have signed up for.

Remember, you do have Violet and other characters who can translate (somewhat) the language on the bridge. Deciphering these messages will give you invaluable clues as to what happened to the Horologium, and what is lurking below.

ROY MUSTANG | FMA . . . and co.
BUT, before he does so, he's going to remind all of you people that you signed up with specific skills awhile ago, and to coordinate thusly, tyvm. Healers should split up, and so on and so forth. Of course, he doesn't know canon powers/Astoria powers will be in flux when he goes below, which will sort of blow a hole in this whole thing, but he will . . . be able to light things on fire again?
Great?
Anyway, COORDINATE, PEOPLE. He doesn't want to die.

He's also probably going to be having a bad time with psychological hallucinations and all that fun stuff. He's kind of got some fears and stuff.
charlie. — percival de #yolo
That being said, having it both enhanced and with the forewarning of both body horror/psychological horror, it's likely he's gonna be a little. Fucking. Jittery. Therefore, if you're interested in A) working with a nerd who can turn into a shadow monster or B) Getting accidentally attacked by said shadow monster/Accidentally attacking him, hit! Me! Up!

Ren Suzugamori
Anyway, I'm down to plot some stuff! He's not up for dying because a: I'd rather avoid that so early in the piece and b: Ren is the kind of person who'd take people around him dying worse than dying himself, but I'm pretty open to stuff outside of that! Once things start deteriorating Ren's probably going to be most interested in finding and somehow ending what's causing the problem as decisively as possible, but it remains to be seen what the psychological effects of the event will have to say about that.
also belated edit to add power permissions, in case anyone wants to get
draggedwhisked away happily into ren's imagination for any reasonFarli - Vex'ahlia (+ Trinket)
A Bad Thing will be happening to Trinket. :( As such, I will make sure to give a CW for animal death. If you'd like to be involved in that, or at least hunt around with Vex below deck, please hit me up here or over on plurk at

UPDATE - CW: Animal Death/Dismemberment

Maes Hughes & Hunk
Maes has decided to take a few more risks this go round and investigate instead of being Mr. Puzzle. His new power is
Going GhostGhost Mimicry and he can turn invisible, intangible, and hover...like a ghost. This will not sit well given his own death...especially since that is going to be the focus of MOST of his hallucinations. Maes has a lot of trauma in his past and I won’t be surprised if the belly of the ship really brings that out. It will likely involve hallucinations of Envy/Gracia!Envy or possibly even beginning to suspect someone in the group is Envy in disguise. Maybe also hallucinations of his own death and since the man is already paranoid...that won’t help.Hunk (Bridge: Group B)
Having helped Zari with the power, he’s definitely interested to explore the Bridge. Most of the Paladins seem to be going below, so Hunk is opting to be the resident Coran and stay on the Bridge. He’s rather intelligent and good with tech, so he should be a good help with decipering stuff. Planning on playing with the whole paranoia and disorientation aspect of the effects -- maybe have Hunk dealing with his motion sickness again and probably getting snappy at people as he tries to work. I’d prefer to avoid any character on character violence with him...though he’s a healer so that might come in handy for some of you :/
Sorry ahead of time.
As always, if you have ideas HMU on Discord @ bouncyerbear #9190 OR plurk

MTT
I'm not sure where I want to put Mettaton at this time.I ended up placing Mettaton on the Bridge, where he's plenty available for bothering during his periodic breaks from decoding messages. Finally, he'll be losing it a little after all this time putting up a convincing facade of control. Beautiful.MTT's not normally easy to crack even under pressure, but under the right circumstances (especially right now) it's very possible. He'll be easier to provoke like this and I would be more than down for things to get physical if your character's also on edge. I'm eager to play out the psychological effects of the Horologium and if you'd like for him to engage with your character's vivid hallucinations or the like, let me know! He might make it worse, or he might try to help (and still possibly make it worse). This is also a great opportunity to get him to give into the effects of the ship since in dealing with other people, Mettaton's most likely to act out himself. Injuring him/damaging him is totally okay by me, but talk to me about the possibility of outright killing him. It's surprisingly easy to do, and I'd probably be down. Otherwise, MTT's a total wildcard and would be likely to do extreme things.
You can get in touch through
merlin
on the note of powers, i have a permissions post for group A to check out, in case we want to play around with powers during the horror fest.

Konoha | JINBA
⭐ she will help out by packing lunch for you underbelly ship explorers, so feel free to assume she gave you some food to eat down there
⭐ she can barely read her own language, let alone alien script, so she won't be much use on the Bridge deciphering messages but she will be dropping by to keep researchers fed and also to help out in menial task sort of ways/anything that needs doing
⭐ if anyone remaining upside on the ship wants to run into a very physically strong centaur in the midst of a hallucination/paranoia fit and accidentally get kicked or what not do let me know... she's sorry in advance

ALLURA
Her canon powers will be back, which include:
+the ability to change her height and skin tone
+super strength- she'll be able to pry open doors with her bare hands, bend metal, lift heavy objects, etc
+alchemy- she'll be able to imbue objects with quintessence to make them more powerful/change the molecular make of them, fuse objects together, etc.
+healing- she is able to heal, and bring people back from near-death
and speaking of death...Allura is among the unlucky to be dying in this event! she'll not being dying of PC on PC related reasons.
I love horror, so I will be going MOSTLY all out on this. Allura has some really intense survivor's guilt and a lot of Bad People in her past that'll trigger her, so she's ripe for hallucinations and paranoia. She is going to try to take the monster head-on when encountering it, so I do think she'll be dying by way impaling when all is said and done.

frisk
Frisk has been put in Group A since I feel this is the option that gives them the most control over how scary the thing feels right now. They'll be around to explore, and will probably crawl in places they shouldn't. They're not likely to fight anything, but they can do some pretty good defense when it gets down to it, mostly via creative interactions with people, objects, and uh, things.
Because they're in Group A, that means they have their canon abilities back. In Undertale, Frisk can LOAD a SAVE by experiencing a burst of determination and returning to that point in time, similar to how a player might load a save point in their game to undo something they didn't want to do, or go back and redo something. It's entirely possible to never interact with this ability if you like, but if you would I have an opt in.
On the powers front, I'd love to have Frisk play defense for people and do musical chairs with trying to keep them getting hurt by anything, regardless of whatever that is. I got the OK for Frisk's powers to being unreliable if you want to mess with that, too.
They're pretty likely to, uh, try and befriend literally anything that moves, so fair warning you may end up chasing them around a lot. I'm keeping them out of the heavy, heavy stuff but they'll be affected by the psychological affects with bursts of * D E T E R M I N A T I O N helping them through the situation. Maybe you want an emotional support baby? They're here. Take them. It's dangerous to go alone.
On the other hand, if you just want to play parent in space trying to hide a kid then I'm around, and I love to make people sad in my threads.
Ritsu
On the horror side of things, I would be interested in playing with the psychological effects! His canon shtick is kind of that he's real good at suppressing increasing feelings of resentment and paranoia up until the moment he suddenly isn't and hauls off to kill God or something. While his Astoria power doesn't make him much more of a physical threat than an average angry teenager, there could be any number of situations he could make worse in such a mental state, even (especially) if he's attempting to help. Let me know if any of that sounds convenient and/or fun to you!
