INTRODUCTION: Hi! I’m Taphy. I’m terrible at introductions and I’m trying to do this on my phone. Haha! Regardless, I’m super excited to be here. I work as a Patient Advocate, so I’m one of the healthcare people. My hours are pretty set, but I tend to be more active in the morning rather at night. I love manga, comedy shows like Brooklyn 99 and Parks and Rec, and I’m quite fond of the MCU too. Uh. I love YGO and bad jokes.
CR MEME CHARACTER NAME: Atem CHARACTER CANON: Yu-Gi-Oh! PERSONALITY: NOW WITH LESS PHONE AND MORE COMPUTER: Atem is a nerd with a savior complex, very strict moral compass, and difficulty admitting he’s wrong. He’s got jokes though!
He's also an Ancient Egyptian King who is awkward around strangers.
POWER/ABILITY: He has a tiny Osiris. Osiris is a two mouth serpentine dragon that is pretty useless but dang it’s cute. INTERESTED CR: Please make friends with him. He's ornery. So positive CR is awesome! I'm also down for negative CR since he's post-DSOD, so he won't bat an eyelash at assisting Astoria. Saving the universe from encroaching darkness is just part of his job description as a Pharaoh.
He's going to be dealing with the fact he has two very different sets of memories in his head, one being his own and the other being an entirely other character's but still his, too. It's complicated and involves possession.
Uh, he can probably teach your character to write or speak Middle Egyptian, and it's my dream for him to get annoyed enough with someone to teach them how to write "I mount butts" as a secret troll maneuver.
At first he may be seen more often at the fighting arena, getting used to the weaponry Astoria has provided and trying to "tame" Osiris. So any fun CR that spawns from that practice would be fantastic. This is actually one of the things I'm most interested in working on at first, since Atem is a military leader (and knows quite a bit about swordsmanship), but he's also very fond of actually utilizing games instead to solve his problems. A nice little inner conflict.
I’m down for that! He’s lacking in about 3,000 years of difference with military tactics. Except he knows how to rig an explosive... we... we don’t wonder how a card game nerd knows how to do that.
So, modern fighting styles would be good! Especially help with bulkier swords since his sense of reference would be curved blades very similar to battle-axes and archery.
What, you didn't learn explosives as part of your deck building strategy?
Wash is best at firearms (which, for the most part, aren't here, so he's none too happy about that), but he's also Good At Knives, should Atem like to learn how to shank someone with a short blade.

i know a little about destiny because jeff, our jonouchi player and a friend of mine, is a big fan, so i actually kind of knew about destiny!osiris! not... too much, but enough to know that there is an osiris in destiny. egyptian mythos, man, can't escape 'em
