INTRODUCTION: Hi there everyone, I’m Jester! I’m a social media peon for a big company and I play way too many video games. Feel free to add me on plurk, I tend to ramble a lot about games and stuff going on at work! >>; Destiny’s new expac has also just dropped, so I’ve been on a kick with that as of recent too.
CR MEME CHARACTER NAME: Cayde-6 CHARACTER CANON: Destiny 2: Warmind PERSONALITY:Kenny Rogers’ The Gambler intensifies But really, Cayde is as super-old, super nonchalant spacemagical-zombie-robot-warmachine with a penchant for bravado and terrible jokes. He’s been around for a very, very long time and seen Some Things so he’s decided the best way to cope is to be as blase about things at all. He’s prone to poor decisions, loves to gamble, and thinks of everything as an adventure, and isn’t shy about butting into things or inserting himself where he probably doesn’t need to be. Strangely enough, he’s also one of the head honchos back in his world, despite being chronically irresponsible.
Basically he’s the (in)human incarnation of wanderlust with an amazing fashion sense. POWER/ABILITY: Luck manipulation. He’s not very good at it yet, but Cayde can change the outcome of an event. He can’t stop things from happening or make them happen, but if they’re already happening you bet he can choose the endgame. INTERESTED CR: -Anyone that can take and throw shade, because he’s a generally pretty talkative and sassy dude. -For that matter, someone come be his drinking buddy and learn how to brew hooch with him the temple doesn’t have enough wine. -Explorer buddies! Cayde’s a pretty accomplished scout back home and anyone else that’s interested in exploring the temple and forest are going to be his best friend -Anyone with stories. It doesn’t even matter if they’re true, Cayde wants to hear everything and anything, go ahead and convince him your universe is populated by dinosaurs or mothmen he’ll be thrilled. -Nonhumans unite! ANYTHING ELSE:
I deffo want more with these two. Arenvald got his start as an adventurer back home, so you can bet he'd be down for exploring. He's also got some stories to share, though that might take some working up to. One day he'll tell Cayde about the time he had to fight a goddess...
I think I called Cayde Simon once on accident and this has PLAGUED ME EVER SINCE. . . I'M SORRY. . .
that said, I love Cayde and Akira's threads a lot! Akira can't be a drinking buddy but he can so be an explorer buddy when he isn't in bed with space flu.
I actually just remembered today that Cayde has canonnly attempted to figure out if centaurs exist in his universe, so at some point I really want to have him slide on over to Konoha like 'heyyyy'
Okay no, but seriously, I feel like she would be super interested in being friends with Cayde because she's known a couple robots and those... robots are not like Cayde. At all. Hahah.
But she's down for exploration shenanigans. And I haven't yet decided if she's going to catch the plague or not~
I would really love to see where this CR goes. Hank has Issues with androids (which he still thinks Cayde is) but Cayde is also unlike anything he expects an android to be, and was fun to be around at a time when Hank was feeling very confused and kind of lost. And the potentially joking and platonic/potentially genuine (at least on Hank's side) flirting was just so much fun. Hank would absolutely welcome Cayde as a drinking buddy, and there's a character (Firo Prochainezo) who's going to be looking into how to make moonshine or something similar, so hopefully soon there will be something to drink. Maybe they can figure out how to gamble without money (truth or dare gambling?).
I am absolutely, 100% down with seeing where things go! I loved that TDM thread so much, Hank fires back so well and oh my goodness that flirting was amazing and unexpected and perfect!! Truth or dare gambling sounds like it could be a riot, I'm definitely in!
I know absolutely nothing about this canon...but the CR sounds promising so here's a Hughes.
He can definitely dish and take shade (he's friends with some pretty sarcastic people), he will definitely be up for another drinking buddy (cause when he drinks with Roy things can get dark/sad), and he's totally into exploring places because he's more curious than he has any right to be and he worked in Investigations back home so it just goes with the territory.
I'd love for Cayde and Hughes to sit down and snark at each other over a drink or two! And honestly, he'll be so excited that there's another person that's into investigations around because that was his jam so much back home and really Hughes should come help him map out the area is what I'm saying.
Okay, Cayde sounds amazingly fun and it seems like he has a lot of personality overlap with York. I'd love to bounce them off each other sometime! Sassy drinking buddies go exploring?

Gonna try and jump into things tonight after work, I'll keep an eye out for him!
I heard stories and came running, because part of Merlin's jam is that he's all about being a storyteller from time to time. Also, he'll be fascinated by Cayde's everything in a good way.
