INTRODUCTION: Hi I’m Pip and I’m a retail gremlin from Arizona. I like horror, sci-fi, and gacha hell mobage. I don’t actually plurk all that often but feel free to add me!!? I'm excited for all the newbies! hello friends
CR MEME CHARACTER NAME: Simon Jarrett CHARACTER CANON: SOMA PERSONALITY: A hard drive running a detailed simulation of an affable, sad nerd from 2015 Toronto. In his new existence as a time-traveling robot zombie diving suit monster mindclone of a dead guy whose whole planet is dead, Simon has literally every identity crisis at once. Somehow he has retained a capacity for being stupidly earnest and engaged with everything all the time, but also a seemingly bottomless capacity for denial. Basically, survival horror protagonist, as both job title and all three words individually.
He’s also a CRAU from Futurology, but that mostly just means he’s already been a sad robot for like 8 months. POWER/ABILITY: Bleeds structure gel, programmable matter that can repair structural and electrical damage to anything mechanical. Basically robot stem cells. He’s deeply unenthusiastic about telling people this gross-ass ability is a thing. May or may not be able to deduce how many of the pictures contain stop signs. INTERESTED CR: ▶people who need their worldviews shaken up by something existentially horrifying ▶do you have Opinions on robots and the nature of existence and identity? would you like to talk philosophy about them? this sad bastard is for you, whatever those opinions are ▶he’s in the semi-unique position of having relevant human illness experience but being immune to illness, so like... idk, great for caretaker types in the current alien flu epidemic who can’t accept help or sympathy from anyone else who’s also sick ▶everything else... HE’S A PRETTY CHILL DUDE aside from all the Stuff, or... while all the Stuff?? so he’s easy to get along with but it’s not impossible to get under his skin ▶honestly if you just want a creepy robot monster to freak your character the fuck out simon is here for you always and so am i ▶he's gross and smells weird sorry
York can be extremely philosophical, and AI in Halo/RvB are also based off human neural imprints so these two would potentially have a lot to talk about. Also I'm super hype to finally be in a game with your Simon after being a fellow SOMA nerd with you for like two years now. It's gonna be great.
YES GOOD.... I can’t wait, they will have the SOMAest conversations, including the nightmarish new concept York will introduce to Simon’s life of not just being a brain scan in the wrong body but sharing the body with your friend
I wanted to apologize for flaking on their last thread, August wound up being a rougher month for me than I had anticipated. I would love to try again to get some CR between the two of them because I think it could be really good!
yeah!!! I’m super here for it, especially since Simon would have been extremely resistant to Zari’s offer to fix his busted business because he is a giant baby who doesn’t want people finding out he’s partially/mostly composed of dead people parts.
They can bond over how technology makes more sense than this Calvinball magic shit.
